Okay, so I haven’t been good about keeping up to date on this thing, but I have been keeping up with the Malazan Book of the Fallen reading challenge I set for myself on Goodreads. As you can tell from the image below, I’m 9 books through the main series, and I’ve managed to read a few of the I.C.E series as well. So far, I’ve completed the following:
- Gardens of the Moon
- Deadhouse Gates
- Memories of Ice
- House of Chains
- Midnight Tides
- Night of Knives
- The Bonehunters
- Return of the Crimson Guard
- Reaper’s Gale
- Toll the Hounds
- Dust of Dreams
- Stonewielder (currently reading)
It’s taking me, on average, about 3-4 weeks to complete each book. So, there’s no hope for me finishing the ENTIRE series by my December 31 deadline, BUT I’ll definitely have completed the entire main 10 book series, so I’m pretty happy with that. I cannot wait to read The Crippled God.
My plan next year is to finish the rest of the entire Malazan series and then also read all the fun political books that have come out recently that I’ve been dying to read but haven’t had the time.
As for a life update: my husband and I moved from Milwaukee to Gainesville, Florida just about 2 months ago, so we’ve been BUSY. I’m starting to host trivia again one night a week as well as trying to get used to my new job. Gainesville is… okay. It’s not my favorite city, and I’m finding it a bit difficult to adjust. We’re probably not long for this town anyway, so I’m looking forward to about 9-10 months from now.
We also go to Disney nearly every weekend because of course we became annual passholders.
I made another goal for myself this year: write a novel. So, I’m going to do NANOWRIMO this year to see what I can crank out. I’ll probably update this a bit more towards then with some novel-writing updates.
